I'm so lucky to be able to work with smart people! Last week I was talking to David Alston , VP Marketing of Radian6 and one smart cookie. He said something I'd like to share.
The next time someone asks you to describe the difference between traditional marketing and social media marketing you can tell them it's the difference between an expense and an asset.
With traditional advertising you're "renting" eyeballs. With social media you're engaging and building relationships.
One is temporary and an expense. The other is lasting and a valuable asset. I like that description. What do you think?

No thanks necessary. I call it like I see it – but you’re welcome. Perhaps I should thank you for giving me a blog topic. L
Thanks for the kind words Lynnelle.
