Are You Ready for the Social Era?

There are a few questions you should ask as you take your business into the social era.

  1. How familiar are you ( and your employees) with the Social Media and its tools?
  2. Do you understand how and which tools to use to the company’s
    advantage?
  3. How steep will the learning curve be?
  4. Do you have the right people on staff (available) to develop content and interact on a regular basis?

And
don't underestimate this – Social Media requires change. Not only will your interactions with your current clients change, but with prospective clients and other contacts.

Social
media requires a change in your internal dynamics as well.

5.  How strong are your business' change management processes and skills?

Whether it be yourself or an employee, it will require man (or woman) hours to develop the social media piece of your business. New web sites and applications will have to be researched and learned and, they will all require a learning curve, but the time for all this must be made in order to be part of the most current interactions of business.

If all these points seem overwhelming and you are still not sure how to go about it, I can help. I'm organizing The BIG Conference October 13th, 2009 in Portland, Maine. Come see speakers like Chris
Brogan;
New Media Markeing, Mike Volpe; Hubspot, David Alston; Radian6; Tim Hayden, GamePlan Marketing and Laurie Brooks of LL Bean. (all are on the agenda for The Big Conference).

They are all big time players in social media and will be discussing the bigger picture for your business. And, the great thing is that they will be doing it right in your backyard! The Big Conference. Early Bird Registration – through 9/20 save $100.   http://www.TheBigConference.com
